To build timber pole retaining wall, start by digging a trench along the line where the wall you will trench should be about the depth and width of the wood that you will use to build the wall. If you need space to work on the back side of the wall, dig out the space before you start to build the wall. Use the line level to the ground level where the wood will lie.
Place the first row of wooden flat in a ditch. After your first line of wood placed along the trench began to pile up the second row of your timber.
