Poliform Kitchen – Simon Moxley is definitely an architect who lives inside the picturesque residential area of Alum Chine. It‘s situated between Sandbanks and Dorset using a seven mile stretch of beach. His penthouse sits 30 ft above the bottom just 100 yards given by a clifftop and also has exquisite views during the sea. He is well known regarding his built the apartment, referred to as Beach Hytte for obvious reasons, because his neighbours allowed him to develop their roof.
Simon has worked alongside his father for ten years designing luxurious homes in Dorset, they‘ve won multiple awards delivering the service. However he wanted to construct something for himself and check out items that perhaps his clients felt were too risky and thus in 2004 he bought a ground floor flat in Alum Chine for £105, 000. He lived inside the flat for a couple of many felt that it was eventually the most suitable place for him to construct and thus started scouting the area attempting to find the ideal plot of land. However land inside the area is scarce and really expensive so he came up having a solution to his problem.
His flat was located inside a 1950’s block which experienced a pitched roof that was typical for buildings built around that point. So Simon decided to undertake and remove the roof and replace it with his flat. His first hurdle was acquiring the neighbours to agree inwith it as there have been three other flats inside the block. The owner of perhaps one of the upstairs flat bought perhaps one of the ground floor ones. Another two neighbours were won around by providing to refurbish the tired looking block inside and in return to the lease from the roof. As all the neighbours would benefit financially coming from the refurbishment They Might all gain from it.
Simon admits the hardest part was persuading his neighbours to permit him to remove the roof, in the end his was situated on the floor floor. This alone cost him £75, 000. Then there have been the neighbours in nearby properties who were concerned of their sea views being blocked but he showed them his proposed development which might actually sit less than the current roof because of the old ridge. Therefore his nearby neighbours would have better sea views using the proposed development so it was eventually a win-win situation for both parties.
However Simon then had to convince the local planning department, they had been worried the additional bulk at such a higher level, but Simon amended his drawings repeatedly until following a year of fine tuning he was offered the go ahead. He admits that lots of patience was involved.More reader came from this term:cool kitchens, poliform kitchens
